Oil changes are important because oil flows through your engine each time you run your car. It keeps the parts inside the engine lubricated and running smoothly. Once the oil becomes dirty it cannot provide the lubrication it needs, and over time the engine parts will rub up against each other causing friction. It doesn't take long after this to have engine problems.

If the angles of the tires are not adjusted correctly, they will not contact the road properly, which would make it difficult to drive your car, especially when you are turning or going around a curve, and could lead to an accident.
If you hit a large pothole or run up over a curb, you should consider having the wheel alignment checked to ensure this did not cause the wheel angles to change. This will not take a mechanic very long to do.
